Angel Assist Service came about when my elderly parents were considering a move to a retirement village; I lived in the North Island, they were in the South.

There was family in the area, but they all had busy lives.

My Mum and Dad were reluctant to move for several reasons, but I vividly recall my Dad’s biggest concern was how long it would take to pack up his work shed and the family home they had lived in for over 60 years. It was a daunting task.

Around the same time here in Franklin we had two large retirement villages being built and it got me thinking about all those seniors embarking on a similar move to my parents and how they would cope.

With no local services being offered at the time, I decided I wanted to make that move easier for them. Not only did I want to help alleviate the concerns of those embarking on the move, but also their families who, through no fault of their own are unable to help.

From personal experience I know families just want to ensure their parents are treated with respect and dignity, aren’t taken advantage of, and that their move is as stress free and relaxed as possible. This is also the goal of Angel Assist Service and the cornerstone of our commitment to all our clients:
